Meet Mrs. Sherman

All About Mrs. Sherman

I was born and raised right here in San Antonio and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.  I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of the Incarnate Word. I then pursued my teaching certification through UTSA/Region 20 TOPP. I am certified to teach Preschool-4th grade, and I am ESL certified. I also earned a Master's degree in School Counseling from Lamar University, and I  have obtained School Counselor certification for grades K-12.

I am entering my 15th year of teaching here at Fort Sam Houston Elementary.  Go Cougar Cubs!!  I taught 1st grade for my first two years and this will be my 13th year teaching 3rd grade.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.  I live in the city of Schertz with my husband, Chris, who is a 4th grade  math and science teacher.  We have two beautiful daughters, Ava, age 9, and Lauren, age 6.  I also have a Basset Hound named Trixie!

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with my 3rd graders.   I love watching them progress in their reading, writing, science and mathematics skills.  I want to encourage and challenge my students to do their very best each and every day.  I welcome the opportunity to work closely with the parents and to building a successful educational partnership!

Let’s have a FABULOUS 2017-2018 school year!

Homework 9/11-9/15

Homework and Spelling words for next week will be sent home today inside the students' Cub Binders.  I have also uploaded everything under the "Spelling and Homework" tab just in case you need a second copy.  I apologize that the uploaded copies are not of great quality. The scanner did not seem to want to cooperate.  :-)
