We exist to serve the military child……
Each month at Fort Sam Houston Elementary, we provide a variety of activities to support the students and families of our learning organization. We do our best to advertise these opportunities so that each of you can attend and reap the benefits they provide to you and your family. Because many of you are new to our family this school year, we thought we would highlight some of the opportunities that are available to you.
Parent to Parent workshops are provided by the Military Child Education Coalition’s Parent to Parent representatives. These workshops give great insight into common needs associated with being military families. Subject matter includes information regarding transitions, taking advantage of volunteer opportunities, and supporting the academic needs of your child. Parent to Parent representatives also provide workshops at Pastries with the Principal opportunities as scheduled.
Cougar Connection workshops are sponsored by the Parent Teacher Organization. These workshops are facilitated by teachers and staff of Fort Sam Houston Elementary. Topics include methods to support academic and social development of your child.
These opportunities are offered in conjunction with the start of the school day or during student lunch times. We believe that this will afford you the opportunity to gain insight on how your child starts his or her day or the opportunity to have lunch with your child or children on days you attend lunch hour presentations.
Workshops are advertised on the campus and district web pages, in flyers, and in student take home folders, or agendas. We hope you will join us for breakfast or take advantage of the best lunch provided on the installation.
Please let us know how we can further assist you as a member of this great learning community
