About Mrs. Kellie Clinton
Welcome everyone!!
I am super excited to be back here at Fort Sam Houston Elementary School after so many years. I love it here and I am so happy to be part of this family again! When I first started teaching here, I met and fell in love with my soldier, Jayson, and we traveled the world, well Europe at least. My life as a military wife was welcomed after I grew up as a military child. I felt trapped once all the moves stopped after my (step) dad retired. I have experienced deployments, unexpected TDY's, single motherhood, fatherlessness, and much much more.
We returned to San Antonio in 2018 and now have the opportunity to be near family again after 17+ years of being away. I am very family orientated and cherish my three boys Nicholas, Jayson, Michael, my ever loving husband Jayson, and my two girls Bella, a dashound, and Taylor, a retired greyhound. We love adventure and will travel anywhere and try just about anything. We truly believe - what God has joined together, let no one separate, Matt 19:6, and make each other a priority every day.
I am super excited to be part of your student's life and pray that we have a fun, innovative, and most of all a growing year. My educational background:
I attended college and received my Bachelors of Business Administration, Management, in 1998 and worked several years managing a restaurant. I found that was not my forte and started teaching preschool just after my son, Nicholas, was born. That was a great fit, but found I really enjoyed working with more academics and children with disabilities. I went back to school and in 2002, I received my Teaching Certification in Special Education, at which I began my teaching career here at Fort Sam Elementary. At this point, I became an at home mother for several years, following my husband, going back to school for my Master's in Marriage and Family and later went on to get my Mediation Certification. I stayed in the education loop by continually substituting. on our last tour to Germany, I was able to receive many long term teaching jobs at our various duty locations and instantly applied here at Fort Sam Elementary once we learned that we had orders. I have been here ever since. I continued my studies and became certified for general education and now hold certificates for both general and special education. I'm so excited to be here for you and your students!! Let's have a fantastic year together!!
