United Through Reading's mission is to unite military families facing physical separation by facilitating the bonding experience of reading aloud together.
From their website: Storynory has published a free audio story every week since November 2005. All our stories are beautifully read by professional actors. We have books and poems by classic authors. We have fairytales from around the world. We have myths and legends. And we have a host of original stories including Prince Bertie the Frog, Katie the Witch, and Astropup.

These e-books can be read silently or as an audio book in several languages. Some languages other than English are Spanish, Chinese, French, German, and Russian.
To read books, the link is on the left menu. You can join for more ways to interact with the books such as by returning to the last page you were reading from a book on your bookshelf. You can search by suggested age ranges, length of the book, or main types of characters (kid characters, real animal characters, etc) and genre. Even by the color of the book cover! Chapter books include classics such as A Christmas Carol, Heidi, Nelson Mandela: Fighter For Humanity, and The Secret Garden. Books in nearly 60 languages are available! However, no titles are audio books.
