All About Mrs. Lamoureux

I have been teaching since 1986. I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of grade levels, all around the world. I began my career right here in Texas where I helped set up a Pre- kindergarten program in my school. Then I moved to the Philippines where I taught Pre-kindergarten in the morning and 4th grade in the afternoon. When Mount Pinatubo erupted, I was evacuated to Korea where I taught 5th grade. After that I spent time working as a substitute teacher in Australia and Guam. I eventually moved to Germany where I taught a second grade class and then a 2nd/3rd grade combination class. When we PCS'd to Fort Campbell, I taught 5th grade. We have been fortunate to live on Fort Sam Houston several times where I have been able to teach here, at Fort Sam Houston Elementary School. I have had a 1st/2nd grade combination class, a position where I worked with students who were at-risk and a position where I worked with the gifted and talented students. I have had such awesome teaching experiences, almost exclusively with military dependents. I love the breadth of experience that this population brings into the classroom. Students who work with me should be ready to work hard, learn a lot and have some fun!!!
