Welcome to resource and co-teach

It will be a great year of helping each child successfully meet academic and personal goals.  As a team, the parents, student and I  can learn and grow throughout the year.

I am excited to be working with students at Fort Sam Houston Elementary.  This is my third year at Fort Sam Houston Elementary, but I have taught for 31 years. I expect this year to be great as well.
My teaching experience is  in Texas, Washington (state) and New Mexico. I am happily married to Kevin Kline. We have a blended family with 6 children and 13 grandchildren. We love traveling to the beach and to visit family. I also enjoy reading and working word puzzles in my free time.
Please contact me anytime you have a question or concern: WE ARE A TEAM.

I have been sending homework home for my reading and math groups.  Please look for this and encourage your child to complete and return.  The homework is chosen to practice skills we have worked on in class.  When your child returns the homework, he or she receives a sticker on a chart.  When their chart is full, they will receive an award/ prize.  I have seen progress in reading!!  Yea! Keep up the hard work.

Second Quarter update

Happy Fall!
I am assessing reading progress the week of Oct 16 - Oct 20.  The assessment will measure the number of sightwords each student has learned as well as reading passages.
I will be sending home reading passages with questions. We will pre-read in group each passage and question.  Each passage will focus on a specific word pattern.  Sightwords will also be used.  Please read the passage and answer the questions in sentences.  Return the completed question sheets by the date written on the top of the sheet.  Look for these to come home Oct 20.
In math, the second graders worked on ordering numbers. They have begun to add and subtract double digit numbers using a 100's chart.  They are to add the tens by counting DOWN and then add the ones by counting to the right.  If you need a 100 chart or pages to practice, let me know.
