Mrs. Salmi

I am deeply committed to serving military-connected students and am excited to be a part of the Fort Sam Houston Elementary School and district as a Reading Specialist! I am passionate about literacy and find great joy in helping students reach their full potential--which starts by becoming successful readers.  I began teaching in 1995 in Minnesota and have taught second grade, fifth grade, middle school ELAR, and served as a math interventionist.  I received my undergraduate degree from Concordia University (St. Paul, MN), my Master’s Degree from Mercer University (Macon, GA), and am finishing my Reading Specialist Certification through Texas A&M University (College Station, TX -- Whoop!)  I am a proud Air Force spouse and have three amazing kids who embody what is means to serve as a military child!
