Welcome to Theatre!
Howdy!
My name is Elvis Irwin and I will be teaching Theatre Arts at Fort Sam Elementary School. This is my ninth year as a theatre teacher, but my first year here at Fort Sam.
I was born in Portland, Oregon, raised in South Philadelphia and have lived in Central Texas since 2001. My BFA is from Texas State University and I am currently working on a Masters Degree in Advancing Gifted & Talented Education in Elementary Education.
I married my wife (born and raised in San Antonio) in 2007 and we have one son (Henry) who will be attending Cole High School, starting as a Freshman.
My goal is to engage our students in many facets of Theatre and Performing Arts with the interest of preparing them for further knowledge at the Middle and High School level. Or at the very least, I hope to energize your student to come to school excited every day and to discover healthy ways to express themselves emotionally and artistically.
Lastly, I have the goal of creating a more prominent after school Theatre experience for students that would like for Theatre to be a mjaor part of their education, and that have the transportation capabilities to participate.
Have a great day!
Elvis Irwin
