Welcome!

Hello FSHE Families!  My name is Amy Chandler, and I’m thrilled to be part of the Fort Sam Houston Elementary community. As the Gifted/Talented Teacher and Emergent Bilingual Lead (GT/EB), I’m excited about partnering with staff and families to support every child’s growth, celebrate their strengths, and help them reach their full potential.

The 2025–2026 school year will be my 24th year in education! Throughout my career, I’ve had the joy of serving as a classroom teacher, campus GT teacher, administrative intern, and K–12 district GT coordinator. Each role has deepened my commitment to meeting the unique needs of all learners and creating an engaging, supportive environment for every student.

When I’m not at school, you can usually find me enjoying time with my family. My husband is a firefighter, and we recently celebrated our 20th anniversary! We have two amazing boys—ages 15 and 18—and our busy family life is one of my greatest blessings.

I’m looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and can’t wait to meet you!
