We have been sharpening our multiplication and division math skills; understanding how electric circuits work; finding out what caused Texas unrest leading up to the Battle of the Alamo; and becoming familiar with various informational texts, especially through our newly introduced Wonderopolis program.

All of the students will be set up with iStation, Dreambox, and Reflex Math accounts.  iStation is a supplemental reading and math program that the state of Texas makes available to every student.  It is a fun and engaging way for students to achieve success in reading and math. Letters will be sent home with your students with directions to guide you through setting up their iStation accounts at home so that they can continue to work on their English Language Arts , Reading (ELAR) and Math skills.
Reflex Math and Dreambox  are  supplemental math programs that the state of Texas have made available to every student.   They provide intervention and enrichment opportunities for your child.
In addition to these programs, I have also enrolled your children in an online "Epic" Reading program which allows them to enrich their love for reading.  The students have individually chosen books according to their preferences and will read books. periodicals, and articles throughout the school year that match their interests.  Teacher lesson plans and student activities will accompany their books.  They will also have opportunities to use what they have read to help them with their writing skills.
We have been spoiled this year with a lot of online offerings to enhance your child's math and reading skills.  Please encourage them to continue to sharpen their skills by using our additional Razkids (reading), and our Reflex (math) program.
