Happy Fall

Dear Cougar Cub Families,
Happy Friday! It has been wonderful to feel those crisp, cooler morning breezes on campus this week—a very welcome sign that autumn is officially here.
We have a busy and exciting season ahead with plenty of fun community events on the calendar. Mark your calendars for Monday, October 19th, when I will be hosting our first Principal’s Chat & Apple Cider. I would love for you to drop by, enjoy a warm cup of cider, and connect with me and other school families.
A big thank you to all the students and families who participated in our Fire Prevention poster contest! October is Fire Prevention Month, and seeing our students' creativity was incredible. It is also a great reminder for every household to review safety routines at home—take a few minutes this weekend to discuss your family’s emergency exit plan and practice what to do in the event of a house fire.
Additionally, October is National Bullying Prevention Month. We are focusing heavily on empathy and respect at school, and we encourage you to reinforce this at home by challenging your children to perform small acts of kindness for others throughout the month.
As a reminder, there is no school on Monday in observance of Columbus Day. I hope you all enjoy the extended long weekend with your loved ones. Have a safe, restful break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday!
Warmly,

Julissa Fisher
Proud Cougar Cub Principal

TEA Military Family Resource Guide

Counselor Information
Dear Cougar Cub Parents & Families,
This month, our school is focusing on the character trait TRUSTWORTHINESS!
What does it mean to be trustworthy?
Being trustworthy means doing what you say you will do, telling the truth, keeping your promises, and making responsible choices—even when no one is watching.
What Trustworthiness Looks Like at School
Students can show trustworthiness by:
  • Telling the truth, even when it is difficult
  • Keeping promises and commitments
  • Returning things that don't belong to them
  • Following rules and expectations
  • Taking responsibility for their choices
  • Being someone others can count on
 At Home!
Families can help build trustworthiness by encouraging children to:
✔ Keep a promise
✔ Tell the truth
✔ Complete a responsibility without being reminded
✔ Admit when they make a mistake
✔ Follow through on what they say they will do
Thank you for your support in helping our students grow into trustworthy, responsible, and caring individuals. Please see the resources below that can help guide the conversation. Remember that trust is built through small choices every day.
Resources:
💬 Family Conversation Starter
Ask your child:
“What does it mean to be someone others can trust?”
Then share an example of a time when someone showed you trustworthiness.
